Appomattox, which capped one of the biggest one-season turnarounds in school history, finished at 8-3. Just last year, Appomattox was 2-8. First Year Coach Jeremy Haymore installed the Single-Wing and Appomattox qualified for regionals for the first time since 1999.

"We may have lost a playoff game, but every (underclassman) who played will return next year and is going to know what it takes to get back to that point and beyond that," Appomattox Coach Jeremy Haymore said. "They've got to understand how far we've come in a year. We lost to two teams, and both of those teams may win a state title. There's no shame in those losses. A lot of teams did not even play last Friday."
